Privacy policy
Tally Wyze does not collect your data. Everything you enter stays on your phone unless you choose to export it.
Who we are
Tally Wyze is made by Forge Perfect LLC, Washington state, USA. Questions about this policy go to support@tallywyze.com.
What the app stores, and where
The debts, payments, income, expenses, account balances and settings you enter are saved only in the app’s storage on your device. There is no Tally Wyze account and no Tally Wyze server. We cannot see, access or recover your ledger.
What the app does not do
- No analytics, tracking or advertising SDKs.
- No connection to your bank, and no request for bank credentials.
- No data sold, shared or used to build a profile of you.
- No network requests carrying your data. Apart from Apple and Google, the only service the app contacts on its own is the update check below. A link from the app to this website opens in your browser like any other link.
Update checks
When you open the app, it asks Expo, the service that delivers Tally Wyze updates, whether a newer version of the app’s code is ready, and downloads it if one is. That way a fix can reach you without waiting for an app store update. The check, and any download that follows, carries only what Expo needs to pick and deliver the right update: iOS or Android, the app version, the update channel, which updates the app has (the one built in, the one running now, any that failed to start) and, if the app failed to start last time, the error message. It carries none of your ledger, no account, no name and no device or install identifier: Expo’s field for telling installs apart is sent as all zeros. Like any request on the internet, it reaches Expo from your phone’s IP address, which Expo handles under its own privacy policy. With no connection, the app skips the check and works as usual.
Backups you export
Settings → Backup can export your ledger as a .json file. You choose where it goes: on iPhone, Files, iCloud Drive, email, or anything else the share sheet offers; on Android, the “Save as” screen, with Download, Google Drive and your other storage apps. Once it leaves the app, that file is handled by the service you picked, under that service’s privacy terms. Importing a backup reads the file you choose and replaces the ledger on your device; nothing is uploaded.
Your device’s own backups
iOS and Android may include app data in iCloud or Google device backups, depending on your phone’s settings. Those backups are controlled by Apple or Google and your account with them, not by us.
App stores
Apple and Google process your download, and any purchase, under their own privacy policies. For the one-time Tally Wyze Pro purchase, the store handles payment and tells the app only whether Pro was purchased; the app keeps that yes or no on your phone. We never receive your payment details, and no server of ours is involved.
This website
tallywyze.com is a static site hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) to operate and secure the service. Everything on the site, fonts included, is served from tallywyze.com itself; nothing loads from third parties. The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics.
Children
Tally Wyze is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.
Deleting your data
Delete any entry inside the app to remove it, or delete the app to remove everything from the device. Backup files you exported are yours to delete wherever you saved them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. If the app ever starts collecting data, this page will say so plainly before that version ships.
